If one wants quality gun smithing and truth they will not find it with Richardson Gun smithing. Never available in a timely manner. Charges for services that were not requested. He glued my rifle stock and ceracoted the trigger guard. I had left a old 22 rifle because it was not ejecting the rounds correctly. He made a sloppy mess of his gluing the cracked stock. I had planned on doing the repair myself and had not even mentioned it to him. I also left old H&R model 929 pistol that has been in a fire and it need major work. He said he could replace all the parts and have the gun blued. He did not perform the services that he said he would and waited for over two months for him to take care of it. He contacted me and said he was done and I could pick up the guns. The pistol cylinder would not stay in the gun if you turned it on its side. He said it needed a spring and he would have to get it later. Turns out it needed the center pin assembly and it had the wrong size screw holding the cylinder arm and it would fall out if turned upside down and shaken. He said he had bought a demilled gun to fix my gun with but couldn’t get the parts needed. I took the gun home and bought the parts needed to fix the gun in 4 days off ebay. I fixed the gun and had it operational in a week. Plus, the cylinder arm would not accept either size screw that was supposed to fit it. I used the larger unheaded screw and machined the hole in the cylinder to accept the screw. Moreover, he had ceracoted the frame of the pistol instead of bluing it. I ended up paying him $300 for sloppy, late, and substandard work. I will never use or reccomend his services again. I have plenty of pictures to prove his terrible work.
