Badge 553 was founded by Mark B Heller who enlisted at the age of 17 into the USAF. At the height of the Vietnam War he was assigned to the 36th Medical Service Squadron of the Alaskan Air Command attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant in just 6 years.
He then left the military and joined the Wilmette Police Department and yes, his badge number was 553. He served in the patrol division and later became an evidence technician. After nearly 14 years he retired from the department and went into civilian life as an entrepreneur.
Mark is a Certified Firearms Instructor with the NRA, an Affiliated Firearms Instructor with the USCCA and he is an Approved Illinois Concealed Carry Firearms Instructor with the Illinois State Police. He now educates and trains responsibly armed Americans to exercise their second amendment rights and to use firearms safely and responsibly. Be prepared to protect your loved ones.
